4. For renovations, we rough in before the walls are lined and fit off at the end, coordinating with your builder and other trades
5. We test everything, issue your Certificate of Electrical Safety and leave the site tidy

How do I know if my house needs rewiring?

Warning signs include ceramic fuses, flickering lights, power points that feel warm or look scorched, circuits that trip often, and wiring that's crumbling or decades old. An on-site assessment will tell you whether you need a full rewire, a partial rewire or targeted repairs.

Do you have to cut into all my walls?

Not usually. In many homes we can run new cables through the roof space and under the floor, keeping patching to a minimum. We'll explain what's involved for your home before work starts.

Can I stay in the house during a rewire?

In most cases, yes. We plan the work room by room so you keep power to most of the house for most of the job. Where the power needs to be off, we'll let you know in advance.

Can you work with my builder?

Yes. We schedule rough-in and fit-off around your builder and other trades, and can advise on lighting and power layout before the walls close up.

Will I need a switchboard upgrade as well?

Often, if your home still has an old fuse board or no safety switches. A modern switchboard with safety switches is usually part of a full rewire. We'll include it in the same written quote if it's needed.

What about asbestos in old switchboards?

Some older switchboards have asbestos backing panels. We flag this before we start and explain the safe options for your home.
